1. Late mirror checks
Learners often check mirrors only when entering. You need checks before signalling, before moving lanes, and again at exit.
2. Wrong lane choice
Staying in the left lane for a right turn is a regular issue. Read the road signs early. Pick your lane early.
3. Poor lane discipline
Drifting out of lane lines is common, especially on larger roundabouts. Keep steady steering and track your lane markers.
4. Late signalling
Signalling too late confuses others. Signal left as you pass the exit before your own.
5. Hesitation at entry
Learners freeze, even when the gap is safe. Learn to judge speed and distance. Commit when it’s clear.
6. Entering too fast
Overspeeding into the roundabout creates loss of control. Slow early. Build speed only once you exit.
7. Cutting across exits
Learners sometimes cut across the front of other cars. Keep tight to your lane until the exit is fully clear.
8. Not checking blind spots
Especially when exiting. Right-side blind spot checks prevent merging conflicts with overtaking vehicles.
Quick tip:
Practice at quiet roundabouts during early lessons. Build rhythm. Then move to multi-lane roundabouts to refine control.
